Colours Of Autumn

Autumn or Fall is a wonderful time of year for colour. There are still flowers about and they are beautiful. Then there are the autumn leaves which are changing on a daily basis through all the glorious rich earthy colours of red and yellow-gold and bronze and purple

Autumn/Fall is such a stunning time I have tried to capture this brief moment in photographs.

I started taking the autumn/fall photos in September and will take a selection each Month after that.

I have another article on why I love Autumn and found there was just too many photos I love to add so this site is devoted to colour!

I have also included some autumn/fall items to being this beautiful season with its gorgeous colours into your everyday life.

All the photographs (except for those on the products) were taken by me in places near my home starting in September.

One of the most noticeable things about Autumn is the way the trees change colour.

The deciduous trees turn from mainly shades of green to a variety of reds, bronze, brown, russet, bronze and yellows.

It can be gentle or it can be spectacular but it is always beautiful.

When you have taken you r gorgeous Autumn/Fall photographs you need a lovely frame to put them in to show them to their very best.

These beautiful frames are the perfect backdrop to Autumn/Fall photographs.

They would also make a thoughtful gift for anyone who you know loves to take photographs or you know has a lot of photographs with nowhere nice to display them.

O Autumn, laden with fruit, and stain'd

With the blood of the grape, pass not, but sit

Beneath my shady roof; there thou may'st rest,

And tune thy jolly voice to my fresh pipe,

And all the daughters of the year shall dance!

Sing now the lusty song of fruits and flowers.

'The narrow bud opens her beauties to

The sun, and love runs in her thrilling veins;

Blossoms hang round the brows of Morning, and

Flourish down the bright cheek of modest Eve,

Till clust'ring Summer breaks forth into singing,

And feather'd clouds strew flowers round her head.

'The spirits of the air live in the smells

Of fruit; and Joy, with pinions light, roves round

The gardens, or sits singing in the trees.'

Thus sang the jolly Autumn as he sat,

Then rose, girded himself, and o'er the bleak

Hills fled from our sight; but left his golden load.

It is important to protect your phone, it probably cost you a lot of money and you need it to last.

However, covers for your phone do not need to be boring.

You can reflect your love of nature, gorgeous colours and beauty with this practical yet beautiful IPhone cover.

One of the most dramatic changes in colour comes fomr Virginia Creeper. Most of the year its green and can be easily overlooked with a ll the other wonder pants to look at.

However form early or mid September it suddenly comes into tis own. It turns a deep or bright red and really shouts out in the garden !

Even though its late September flowers have not deserted us just yet in the garden.

There are so many lovely blooms for the autumn time to prolong the flowering borders in your garden and lift the spirits even though the nights are drawing in now. .

I grew up with farms all around me and although i don't live quite so rural now I love to see the farms at harvest time.

Hay may be stacked up in oblong bales or in giant circular stacks like the ones here all ready for winter fodder.

Many think of autumn colour as being bright and reds and purples but it has its softer side and I love the subtle golds and browns and bronzes here.

The pretty romantic roses of summer may have mostly gone over by now, thought there are certainly some that go on well into October, even November if you choose a variety for this length of flowering.

However I also love the rose hips that you have on some roses. They have all their own beauty and grace.

Here are some photos I took in and around where I live during the month of October.

It just shows you do not have to go too far to find beautiful scenes in Autumn. This was taken minutes just down the road and what a lovely show of autumn colour it is.

Berries are certainly a feature of Autumn in UK and I like them very much. It is said that the more berries there are the harsher the winter will be but I do not know if that is just a folk tale or a fact.

Either way the birds and wildlife love them!

I have to take my photos quickly of berries in our garden as the resident bird population find them very fast once they are fully ripe and are often seen enjoying them !

Seed heads can be one of the unsung beauties of Autumn time.

In fact when people do not know about how lovely they can look they are often cut off before they reach their prime in the pruning of autumn gardening.

It is always worthwhile, if you are unsure to leave them to see just what might appear. This is especially true if you have recently moved in to t a new garden and are usure just which plants you may have.

So here are a few photographs of the belles who are so late to the ball we usually miss them.
